Walk and Work Your Way to Better Health

“Walk and Work Your Way to Better Health”

   Dr. S. G. Gattani

Walking is man’s best medicine – Hippocrates. Be opportunistic for walking “Walking: The King of Health” “To achieve something you’ve never had; you must be willing to do something you’ve never done.” “The body achieves what the mind believes.” “Once you walk regularly, the hardest thing is to stop it.” “If you don’t walk or exercise, you’ll probably have to make time for illness.”

Walking is the simplest exercise, and anyone of any age can do it anytime. Healthy, ill, young, and old, males, and females may walk without regard for time. Because of a fast-paced lifestyle, everyone finds themselves behind in their bread and butter because they spend most of their time traveling by car, bus, auto, metro, local train, or airplane for work. This type of busy person goes for walks whenever and wherever they have free time. When speaking with a friend, client, wife, or relative, continue walking while speaking, but paying attention to the surroundings is not an accidental zone. When sitting in a chair during a meeting, use the momentum of your joints. Move around your workspace within the limits of the company guidelines, seize walking opportunities

Take a step instead of using a lift at work, walk while on the phone at home (be careful not to stumble or get hurt), and walk anytime you go to the market, temple, or garden. Find an opportunity to walk instead of sitting and talking. This will energize, motivate, provide strength, enhance digestion, maintain body posture, and contribute to the health of the skeletal system. The number of times your bungalow/flat/society’s steps go up and down during the rainy season. Finally, bodily movement is essential for activating body organs.
Walking helps in the treatment of a variety of ailments, including hypertension, diabetes, depression, heart disease, hormone imbalance, depression, bone and joint problems, etc.

Many people worry about not having enough time to exercise, yet they do have time for illness. It is about understanding one’s attitude. Today, if you lose opportunities to walk, you will have more opportunities to become ill. Try it; everything is possible. Even while writing this, I’m walking on my safe balcony. It doesn’t matter what designation you have, what age you are, or where you find the opportunity to walk; your body will keep momentum fit and happy.
